Girls Soccer Game Results from Shelbyville vs. Delta

After a hard loss at Triton on Thursday, the Shelbyville Girls Soccer team came out with sheer determination to win against their conference rival the Delta Eagles, and win they did.

In the 29th minute of the first half, Senior Alexis Tackett brought the heat with a goal from outside the 18′ in Eagle territory.

The Bears continued to keep the pressure on, but in the 19th minute of the first half Delta scored off of a corner kick opportunity.

At halftime the score was 1-1.

The energy from the Bears was clearly shown after the half as the Bears had a total of 24 shots on goal in comparison to Delta’s 4 shots on goal (all saved by Bears Goalkeeper RaeAnne Scarlett) for the game.

Of those shots for the Bears, two more were made by Tackett in the second half, culminating in the senior’s hat trick for the day.

The second goal came off of a beautiful assisted corner kick from sophomore Laurel Eggleston to Tackett in the box at the 19th minute of the second half.

Then to secure the victory, Tackett scored again at the 15th minute from a shot just outside the 18′ box of the Eagles.

Honorable mentions go out to the whole Bears’ team for their outstanding effort today.

Shelbyville is now 1-3 in the HHC
