Columbus North started the night hot by scoring 5 runs in bottom of the first inning. The Golden Bears battled every inning, by making big plays on defense and getting some timely hits. Mark Kuhn had a 2 run home run in the top of the 2nd and Logan Young had a sacrifice fly in the 5th.. By the end of the 6th inning Columbus North was leading 8-4.
The victorious Bears scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th. Young started the rally with a double, followed by another double by Damon Lux. After a hit by pitch and a walk, Eadin Balting had an RBI single to get the tying run into scoring position. Cory Taylor then drove home the tying run with a single, and Tyce Taylor wrapped up the scoring with a two run double.
Kuhn got the win on the mound by throwing 2 innings of no hit relief. John Lux battled after a tough first inning to throw two solid innings.
Come out and watch the Golden Bears (2-3, 0-2 HHC) take on Mt. Vernon tonight at 5:30.
