Game Recap

The first two innings were scoreless. Yorktown took the upper hand with a total of 6 runs in the third and fourth innings. The Golden Bears battled back in the bottom of the fourth inning. Drew Mathies was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, followed by Tyce Taylor’s triple to right center field. After Damon Lux and John Lux reached base, Tyler Stieneker launched a 3-run home run to left. Mathies then drove in Connor Phelps and Cory Taylor for a total of 7 runs in the inning.

Tyce Taylor threw 3 and 1/3 innings, giving up 2 earned runs while striking out 6. Mathies picked up the win in relief.

The Golden Bears upped their record to 9-7 and 3-5 in HHC play. Tonight we travel to Yorktown. The game will start around 6:15.
