Girls Varsity Basketball · Golden Bears Fall In Conference Opener

The Shelbyville girls’ basketball team fell to Pendleton Heights on the road Friday, 76-41.

The Arabians scored 20 points in the first and second quarters to earn the home win. SHS trailed 40-23 at halftime.

Seniors Ryan Massey and Carris Decatur finished seven points each in the loss. Decatur and Massey also led the team with eight and seven rebounds, respectively. Massey finished with a made three.

The Golden Bears are now 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.

Makayla Terrell added six points and Olivia Knarr and Olivia Byrd both had five.

SHS returns to action on Nov. 30 at home against Franklin County. Shelbyville hosts Batesville the next day for a 1:30 p.m. contest.

Mohawks top Greenwood Christian

The Waldron girls’ basketball team beat Greenwood Christian Academy Saturday afternoon on the road, 54-40.

Senior guard Hannah Sullivan had a season-high 25 points for the Mohawks. Morgan Wood and Victoria Shaw added 11 and seven points, respectively.

Waldron plays again at home Nov.30 againstTriton Central.
