The Golden Bears move to 10-4 on the season after winning the prestigious Noblesville Invitational. Six of the ten sets were decided by two points against some of the premier competition in Indianapolis. After winning a back and forth battle against Western Boone, the Golden Bears had a rematch over Franklin Central where they were victorious in two straight sets.
The championship match lived up to the hype between the host Noblesville Millers. A back and forth first set led to a narrow victory for Shelbyville. Fatigue took place over the team and the Millers were able to capitalize. A final push to close the set, Shelbyville trailed 15-23 but made it a five point loss losing 20-25. After the second set it was all Shelbyville. Great serving pressure from Emma Nolley forced a 13-1 lead in the third set and the final kill by senior Macey Kuhn ended the match and the tournament 15-3.
Senior Audrey Reinhart was able to join a prestigious club over the weekend collecting her 1000th career dig against Noblesville. Reinhart is currently on pace to contend for the career leader of digs. Shelbyville plays host to #2 in 3A Greensburg on Tuesday Night.
