Weekly Recap 

Girls Basketball

The Girls Basketball Team hosted Guerin Catholic on Tuesday Night for a mid-week showdown and that it was.  The Golden Bears enjoyed a 28-22 halftime lead.  That lead strunk to 36-33 after three quarters and the Bears were defeated in a very good game 52-47.  Madison Phares scored 14 points to lead the way, while Jaidyn Tackett and Madison Bassett scored 11 each.  The Golden Bears are now 5-9 on the year and will travel to Yorktown on Saturday.  The JV Team defeated Guerin Catholic to move its record to 6-6 on the year.

The JV Team traveled to Whiteland on Thursday to play a stand alone game.  The girls were defeated to move to 6-7 on the year.  Baker led the way with 9 points, while E. Johnson had 8 points.  The team will travel to Yorktown on Saturday starting at 11 am.  

The Girls Basketball team was defeated by Yorktown on Saturday.  Jaidyn Tackett led the way with 14 points and Madison Phares and Ava Wilson each scored 7 points.  The Varsity moves to 5-10 on the year.  The JV was defeated at Yorktown as well and moved to 6-8 on the year.  Both teams will travel to Rushville on Tuesday night with basketball starting at 6 pm.  

Boys Basketball

The Boys Basketball Team traveled to Greensburg on Saturday.  The Golden Bears trailed 14-10 after 1 and 33-31 at the half.  Shelbyville took the lead by 1 after 3 by a score of 45-44, but was finally defeated by a final score of 62-57.  Shelbyville produced three players that scored in double figures with Bunton leading the way with 16, Sandman with 14, and Heaton with 11.  The varsity moves to 3-5 on the year.  The JV was defeated by Greensburg and moved to 3-7 on the year.  The 9th, JV, and Varsity teams will travel to Greenfield-Central on January 23 for an HHC showdown.  

Wrestling

The Wrestling Team hosted Triton Central on Thursday for Senior Night.  In a tremendous match that came down to the last match the Bears were defeated 41-39.  Berry and Jones won by Pin.  The Golden Bears would like to thank all the seniors and what they have done for the program.  

The Wrestling Team won the Rushville Invite on Saturday by beating Shenandoah 48-27 and the host Rushville 58-18.  Lux, Collier, and Linville all had pin wins on the day.  The Golden Bears move to 14-11 on the year.  The Team will compete in the HHC Tournament this Saturday at New Castle with wrestling starting at 10 am.
