Game Recap

Shelbyville defeated Mooresville 3-1 behind a hat trick from senior Tyce Taylor. After conceding midway through the first half, the Bears pressed forward looking to equalize. The Pioneer keeper made a few outstanding saves from close range, but right before halftime Trae Hassebroek sprung Taylor free on goal. After rounding the keeper, Taylor found the back of the net from a tight angle. Shelbyville came out of the break determined to take control of the game. Evan Witte whipped in a corner that Taylor headed home. Witte also supplied the assist to cap off the scoring. As Mooresville pressed to get back in the game, Nick Amos came up with some huge saves, finishing the game with 12 in total.

Shelbyville will wrap up the regular season on Saturday against Delta on Senior Day.

Game Recap

Jacob Coomes helped make sure the Golden Bears wouldn’t lose on his birthday. After Josh Williams opened the scoring, Coomes put the game away with goals on either side of half time. Shelbyville controlled large stretches of possession due to strong midfield play, and the speed of Williams, Coomes, and Kevin Rosales was too much for Mooresville to handle. Alex Abel has played well in the net, filling in for injured starter Kaleb Schaf, and was able to hold the shutout in the final JV game of the season.

Game Recap

The Bears and Arabians played a tightly contested match at the JV level, with Pendleton Heights edging Shelbyville 2-1. Trying to break the deadlock in the second half, the Bears held quite a bit of possession and had several opportunities to grab a winner. Unfortunately Pendleton was the one to find a winner towards the end of the second half.

Game Recap

In an evenly matched HHC game, Shelbyville defeated Pendleton Heights 1-0 to capture the HHC Traveling Bell. This is the first time Shelbyville has won the Bell since 2011. The effort and work rate on both sides of the ball was stellar, and the Bears were rewarded when Trae Hassebroek followed a header from Cory Taylor and found the back of the net. The defensive organization was much improved over the last few games, which helped keep the Arabians off the scoreboard. Nick Amos finished with 11 saves on the night.
