Big Bats Show Up for Softball in Sweep at Jennings County

The Golden Bear varsity team traveled to Jennings County on Saturday to play a double header.  The Golden Bears big bats showed up in game one with a 16-0 victory.  The team produced five home runs in the game led by Karissa Hamilton’s three.  Kylee Edwards, Katie Mathies, and Kiley Mclver all hit one apiece. 

Varsity Baseball Clinches Victory with Big 6th Inning over East Central

The Shelbyville Golden Bears Varsity Baseball Team defeated East Central 11-9 on Friday night after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at seven heading into the bottom of the sixth when Shelbyville exploded for four runs.  Brayden Basey doubled on the first pitch of the at bat to get the

Munchies Player of the Game: Mathies and Thompson

Katie Mathies and Benny Thompson named Munchies Player of the Game for their respective performanced Wednesday night.  Mathies highlighted a Golden Bear win by hitting a Grand Slam.  Thompson highlighted a win by pitching a No-Hitter and getting 2 hits.  Congrats to both players and thanks to Munchies for helping bring recognition to Shelbyville Athletes.

Thompson Tosses No-Hitter to Lead Golden Bears to Victory

Benny Thompson was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound in Wednesday’s baseball season opener at Hauser, as Thompson threw a no-hitter to lead Golden Bears Varsity past Hauser 10-0. Benny Thompson not only tossed a no-hitter but his top half of the first 2 RBI single got the Bears on the scoreboard first.  Shelbyville then opened

Track and Field Results from the Westfield Meet

The Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams traveled to Westfield to compete against the host and Crown Point on Tuesday night.  In the first outdoor meet of the year Sam Price for the boys finished 2nd in the 400 and 3rd in the 200.  Ethan Lambert finished 2nd in the discus and Jett Kolls

Baseball Scrimmage vs. Decatur Central

The Shelbyville Golden Bear Baseball season opened up last night with the annual scrimmage vs. Decatur Central.  The Golden Bears displayed some strong pitching from multiple players with the scrimmage format just a tad different than regular baseball.  Each inning consisted of nine batters from each team and the bases were cleared every three outs.
