It was another warm and windy day for the Shelbyville track & field home opener. The Bears got the better of their future conference rivals, the Speedway Sparkplugs, as the girls team won the meet 88-34 and the boys team won 85-46. The Bears picked up wins from Kamden Turner in the 400m dash and pole vault, Shia Veach in the 800m and 1600m runs, Joaquin Delgado in the 110m hurdles, Eli Davis in high jump, Ethan Griffin in the shot put and discus, and the 4x400 and 4x800m relays. The Lady Bears were led by victories from Amara Lewis in the 100m dash, Sonora O'Connor in the 200m and 400m dashes, Macey Robbins in the 800m run, America Leon in the 1600m run, Aerin Garcia-Santiago in the 3200m run, Jordyn Noe in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and high jump, Madalyn Bolin in discus, Taylor Abell in shot put, and the 4x800m relays. Up next is a triangular hosted by East Central and including Franklin Community on Tuesday, April 7th.
