The Golden Bears put together a series of impressive outings at the Whiteland JV Invitational, with several athletes rising to the top of the leaderboards on a beautiful day for competition. In the field events, Noah Jones secured a victory in pole vault by clearing 10' 0", while Kamden Turner followed closely to take 2nd place with a height of 9' 6". On the girls' side, Haylee Barnes also claimed a 1st place finish in pole vault, clearing 7' 0". Dalton Helton had a busy day in the throwing rings, earning 2nd place in discus with a toss of 111' 9" and adding a 5th place finish in shot put with a mark of 37' 11.50". On the track, Ethan Wallace took 2nd place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 21.35 and later placed 5th in the 300m hurdles in 1:01.87. Madison Sanders also placed in both hurdle races, finishing 4th in the 300m hurdles (1:04.03) and 6th in the 100m hurdles (20.73). Paige O'Connor took 3rd place in the 3200m run (14:17.12) and 5th place in the 800m run (2:53.78). Kendryk Pike rounded out the top-5 individual performances by taking 5th place in the 3200m run with a time of 11:57.81. The team of Nevaeh Cole, Yelena Rolon, Madison Sanders, and Annabelle Bringle took 4th place in the 4x400m relay in a time of 5:10.07. The varsity squad will be competing at Warren Central in the Dennis McNulty Invitational on Friday night while distance phenom Shia Veach will head north for the Carmel Distance Showcase to participate in the 3200m run.
