The Shelbyville Golden Bears are Baseball Sectional Champions! After an exciting postseason run, the Golden Bears brought home the sectional title, marking the program's first sectional championship since 2005. The team showcased resilience, determination and outstanding teamwork throughout the tournament. Shelbyville opened sectional play with a 4-0 victory over Beech Grove before advancing to one of the most thrilling games of the season. In the semifinal round, the Golden Bears battled New Palestine in an extra-inning classic, coming away with a hard-fought 10-9 victory. The championship game saw Shelbyville take on Indian Creek, where the Bears secured the title with an 8-4 win. This championship is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our players, coaches and support staff. Their commitment throughout the season has made the Shelbyville community proud. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our fans, families, students and community members who came out to support the team throughout the sectional tournament. Your energy and encouragement helped create a tremendous atmosphere and made this championship run even more special. Congratulations to our players and coaching staff on an incredible accomplishment. The Golden Bears will now turn their attention to the next step of the postseason as they continue their remarkable season in the Regional on Saturday, June 6th.
