The Shelbyville HS girls & boys XC teams traveled to Columbus Saturday morning for the Rick Weinheimer Invite. Hot temperatures from the week continued into Saturday morning, even by 9am for the girls' varsity race. America Leon had a very competitive finish, finishing in 20:24, only 3 seconds from her all-time PR, and a 20-second improvement from last week. She finished 46th overall (44th in the AA division), out of 181 varsity runners. The girls were down a few runners due to injury and IU band day today. We chose not to compete in the JV race due to heat concerns. Rounding out the Top 5 for the girls were Macey Robbins (21:33), Kat Seal (25:39), Anne Marie Fansler (26:17 - a 1 second PR), and Belle Orem (26:44). The girls finished 20th in the AA division. Shia Veach finished first for the boys (16:51, 51st), followed by Eden Ortega (18:23), Kendryk Pike (19:33), Anderson Mollenkopf (19:59) and Tanner Jones (20:59). The boys finished 21st in the AA division. Next week, the teams travel to Morristown for the Goble Classic. Results
