The Golden Bears Swimming and Diving team competed against both Beech Grove and Heritage Christian last night. The girls and boys both came away with two commanding victories. Final scores: Girls: SHS 61 - HC 41, SHS 65 - BG 35 Boys: SHS 50 - HC 41, SHS 77 - BG 6. The team combined for 2 Golden Bear Top Tens, 20 career PRs, and 7 season PRs. Individual event winners were: Miriam Garringer 200 Free, Paige Bohman 50 Free, Trey Carrell 50 and 100 Free, Riley Everette 100 Fly, Will Rife 100 Fly & 100 Back, Andrew Duffy 500 Free, and Naomi Garringer 100 Back. Congratulations to Maiah Helfer-Vazquez and Trey Carrell for new career PRs and Golden Bear Top Ten performances. Maiah posted a score of 185.85 in diving to place second. Trey posted a time of 52.32 in the 100 Freestyle for a first place finish. Athletes of the meet: Blake Hughes for posting 4 career PRs in his 4 swims. Maiah Helfer-Vazquez for her career PR and GB Top Ten. Gaige Harker for completing the 200 IM for the first time. Paige Bohman for her first HS individual victory. The Bears are back in action Thursday 12/8 hosting Warren Central at 6:00PM.
