The Golden Bears faced their stiffest competition yet, participating in the Dennis McNulty Invitational hosted by Warren Central. The teams in attendance for this competition are Bishop Chatard, Carmel, Center Grove, Floyd Central, Lake Central, Roncalli, Rushville, Shelbyville, Warren Central, and Zionsville. It's not a meet for the faint of heart! While there were a lot of personal bests set in the on again, off again rain, two individual performances stood out from the rest for the Golden Bears. Freshman Macey Robbins took 6th place in the 400 meter dash. Her time of 1:01.66 was the best of any underclassmen in the race as she continues to inch her way closer to that ever-elusive 60-second mark. And for the boys, sophomore Shia Veach had a massive breakthrough in the 3200 meter run, coming away with the victory and an astounding 17-second personal best. His time of 9:57.57 improves on his old best of 10:14.19 from one week ago at the Bill Self Invite. Other placers for the Bears included the boys 4x100 meter relay (Jorge Jauregui, Logan Page, Trell Garner, and Christian Powell), 4x400 meter relay (Powell, Page, Eli Davis, Blake Hughes), and 4x800 meter relay (Elias Slaven, Jonah Anspaugh, Kendryk Pike, and Logan Addis), as well as the girls 4x100 meter relay (Diana Gasca, Jordyn Noe, Koli Adkins, and Amara Lewis), and 4x400 meter relay (Alyna Castanon, Noe, Gasca, Robbins).
