Eli Sheppard Drive in Six as Shelbyville Defeats Hauser

Eli Sheppard showed timely hitting on Wednesday, driving in six on three hits to lead Shelbyville past Hauser 17-1 on Wednesday. Sheppard drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a single in the third. The Golden Bears secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. Gavyn Fisher, Sheppard, Luke Jackson, Brock Kuhn, and Aiden Smith each had RBIs in the frame. Shelbyville fired up the offense in the first inning, when Fisher drew a walk, scoring one run. The Bears notched nine runs in the third inning. Shelbyville’s offense in the inning came from a walk by Kuhn, a single by Sheppard, by Fisher, an error on a ball put in play by Jackson, and a double by Smith. Smith was the winning pitcher for Shelbyville Golden Bears. Smith surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. Luke Brinkman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. McIntyre toed the rubber for Hauser. McIntyre surrendered eight runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two. McCanlis and Landen entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively. The Golden Bears tallied seven hits on the day. Sheppard and Kuhn all managed multiple hits for the Bears. Sheppard went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Shelbyville in hits. Hauser scattered four hits in the game. Pittman and Gill each racked up multiple hits for Hauser.
