FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Shelbyville High School Announces Kylie Weichman as New Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Shelbyville, IN – June 3, 2025 – Shelbyville High School is excited to announce the appointment of Kylie Weichman as the new varsity girls coach of the girls basketball program. A seasoned and respected leader in Indiana athletics, Coach Weichman brings over two decades of experience in coaching and youth development to her new role. Weichman previously served as the Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Columbus East High School from 2011 to 2023. During that time, she played an instrumental role in developing young talent and supporting a highly competitive varsity program. In addition to basketball, she was the head girls golf coach at Columbus East from 2020 to 2022, showcasing her versatility and dedication to student-athletes across multiple sports. Coach Weichman also has extensive experience in travel basketball, having coached girls teams from 2004 to 2020. Her leadership at the travel level helped shape and prepare numerous athletes for success at both the high school and collegiate levels. “We are thrilled to welcome Coach Weichman to Shelbyville High School,” said Athletic Director Jenny DeMuth Hensley. “Her coaching experience, leadership style, and passion for building strong team cultures will be a tremendous asset to our program. She’s the right person to lead our Girls Basketball Program and we are excited to see the program grow and continue to excel.” In addition to her coaching background, Weichman works professionally with Pearson Education, where she brings the same focus and commitment to excellence that defines her coaching career. Coach Weichman will begin her tenure immediately, working with student-athletes as they prepare for summer workouts and the upcoming season.
